Colin joined Rathbones in November 2024 as an Associate Financial Planning Director. He specialises in providing personalised advice to private clients, with a particular focus on retirement planning and estate planning.

Colin takes a people focused approach and enjoys building a financial plan that prioritises what’s important to clients to enable them to achieve their financial goals.

Colin began his career in Financial Services in 2007 and has worked for a variety of organisations including Aegon, Aberdeen and Evelyn Partners. Colin has been advising clients for several years and is a Chartered Financial Planner. Outside of work, most of Colin’s time is spent with his wife and three young children. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys regular exercise and supporting his local football team.

Scott started his career in financial services shortly after graduating from the University of Edinburgh. He worked with a small specialist financial advice firm based in Totnes in Devon. After returning north of the border, Scott has worked in boutique wealth management firms and has been advising private clients across Scotland.

He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. He holds the CISI Diploma in Advanced Financial Planning and the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the CII. Outside of work Scott enjoys spending his time with his young family and looking after their two Miniature Dachshunds, Bella and Bonnie.

I am currently studying towards the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments.

I began my career in 2023 with The McKnight Financial Group as a Trainee Financial Adviser, where I gained foundational experience in financial planning and client engagement.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Business & Finance from the University of the West of Scotland and an MSc in Investment Management from Heriot-Watt University. Originally from the Isle of Bute, I moved to the mainland to pursue my academic and professional ambitions.

She assists in the management of portfolios for a range of clients including individuals, families, trusts, and charities.

Victoria began her career in financial services in 2021 at Rathbones’ Exeter office. As part of her role, Victoria was responsible for liaising with clients and external financial advisers and handling all administrative matters pertaining to the management of clients’ investment affairs.

Prior to joining Rathbones, Victoria worked as a medical secretary at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. The role required attention to detail, discretion and strong organisational skills – all of which she brings to her work supporting our clients and advisers.

With over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sophie previously worked at Coutts, where she supported high-net-worth individuals. She holds the Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager accreditation and also studied finance during her final year at Bournemouth University, combining academic knowledge with practical expertise.

Outside of her professional life, Sophie enjoys quality time with her family and exploring new spots for dog walks. She also has a passion for reading, cooking, and staying active at the gym, all of which provide a healthy balance to her busy work life.

Toby began his career at J M Finn, where he trained as an Investment Manager, before moving to Quilter Cheviot in 2018. He holds a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester and is a Chartered Wealth Manager.

His specialist areas include pensions (including NHS and armed forces schemes), inheritance and family planning, responsible investing, and business exit strategies. Toby is also a Trustee of a local charity and an active member of the Bristol Junior Chamber. Outside of work, he enjoys long-distance running, playing football, and philosophy.

Laura joined Rathbones as an Investment Director within the specialist Greenbank team in 2022 where she is dedicated to advising and managing investments for charity clients.

Previously Laura held positions at Brunel Pension Partnership, where she was Responsible Investment Manager for £40bn of public and private assets and at CCLA, where she was Deputy Head of Ethical and Responsible Investment. Laura started her career as an energy sector analyst and trained as a portfolio manager at Barclays Wealth.

She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder, has the CFA Certificate in ESG Investment and has both an Undergraduate Honours Degree and Master’s Degree in Geographical Sciences from the University of Bristol. Laura also sits on the investment committee of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as an independent sustainable investment advisor.
