John is responsible for managing a number of portfolios for private individuals, personal pensions, trusts and charities. Prior to joining Rathbones in January 2020, John spent nine years at Tilney as a portfolio manager. He holds an Honours Degree in Business Economics and is a member of the Personal Finance Society and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered institute for Securities and Investments. John has attained the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the CII and the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification from the CISI.

John joined Rathbones in 2020, following a near-twenty year investment career at Barclays.    In 2016, John took on management of Barclays’ Court of Protection (CoP) and Special Interest (SI) book, representing the most vulnerable component of Barclays’ discretionary proposition. This involved a tailored style of management sensitive to the unique nature of each set of client circumstances.   Prior to specialising in CoP and SI work, John managed private client, offshore bond, trust and pension portfolios for Barclays’ Northern Ireland discretionary book. He served on Barclays’ Fixed Income Collectives Committee, and was latterly responsible for the allocation of Government Debt and European equity within the firm’s regional models.   John graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2000, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Jon is an investment director. His clients consist of private individuals, charities, trusts and personal pensions. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Jon's career started on the floor of the Stock Exchange with Greene & Co in 1981. In 1985 he joined Sheppards & Chase and remained with them for over 21 years and through several mergers until moving to Rathbones.

Jonathan joined Rathbones in 2011 and provides discretionary management for private clients, pensions, trusts and charity portfolios. He started his investment career at JP Morgan in 2007 and prior to joining Rathbones, worked at Newton assisting in the management of private client portfolios. 

Jonathan graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007 with a 2:1 in Economics & Management and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He holds both the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the CISI Level 7 Masters in Wealth Management.

Jonathan is an investment director, joining Rathbones in March 2011. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and has been managing investments for a wide range of private individuals, trusts, SIPPs and charities since 1983. 

Jonathan originally started his city career as a jobber with Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt before moving across to stockbroking with Henderson Crosthwaite in 1983. Jonathan managed the Horsham office for Henderson Crosthwaite for a number of years before returning to London shortly before the firm merged to become Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite. He moved to Teather & Greenwood in 2001, and thereafter experienced a number of changes of ownership before resigning from BNP Paribas to join Rathbones.

Jonathan is an investment director at Greenbank, specialising in managing tailored investment portfolios with a focus on sustainability, impact and ESG considerations. He started his career as an investment adviser at Tilney Investment Management and has since held roles at Close Brothers Asset Management and Sanlam Private Office, working with both private clients and professional intermediaries.

Jonathan holds the Investment Management Certificate, the Private Client Investment Advice and Management Diploma and the CISI Masters in Wealth Management. He is also a CFA Charterholder and holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing as well as the STEP Certificate for Financial Services.

A Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investments, Jonathan has a B.A. in Management Studies with Spanish from the University of Nottingham. He joined Rathbones in March 2022 and provides values-based investment solutions for private clients, trusts and charities, with an emphasis on ethical and socially responsible portfolios.

Jonny is an investment manager in the Winchester office. He joined Rathbones in summer 2019 having moved from Quilter Cheviot where he worked for eight years.

Jonny is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute and is a Chartered Financial Technician (CFTe) and a member of the Society of Technical Analysts (MSTA). He and his young family are based in Southampton.

Julian achieved the Securities Industry Diploma in 1997 having joined A H Cobbold & Co in 1986. In October 2010 Julian became a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Julian is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment with 25 years’ investment management experience. He specialises in managing investments for private clients, trusts, charities, corporates, personal pension funds and the clients of financial advisers. 

Prior to joining Rathbones, Julian spent 12 years as a divisional director at Brewin Dolphin, where he co-managed a large team alongside Investment Manager, Elliot Greenwood. He was also a member of the group’s Asset Allocation Committee, which helped steer company investment policy. While at Brown Shipley he was personally responsible for looking after £100m of high net worth overseas clients, investing directly into global equities, bonds and hedge funds. 

Julian re-joined his long-standing colleagues at Rathbones in February 2021 to take up the position as the team’s senior investment director. He also sits on a number of client reporting & proposition committees.
