Paul was appointed chief executive in May 2019, having served as managing director of Rathbones Investment Management from May 2018. He was previously group finance director from 2008 to April 2019.
Paul qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouse in 1992, subsequently taking up a position in New York before returning to London in 1996. In 1999 he joined Old Mutual Plc as group financial controller, becoming director of finance of Gerrard Limited in 2001. In 2005, two years after the sale of Gerrard, he left to work initially for Euroclear and, subsequently, as a divisional finance director of the Phoenix Group. He was formerly a non-executive director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Iain was appointed as group chief financial officer on 1 January 2024. Iain served as finance director of Investec Wealth & Investment Limited (IW&I) for more than a decade and was appointed CEO of IW&I UK in February 2023. He brings to his current role his extensive knowledge of the sector along with a wealth of experience of financial and regulatory reporting, corporate governance and risk management.
Iain is a fellow chartered accountant and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, which subsequently became PricewaterhouseCoopers. Working in the audit practice, Iain had responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of audit engagements which included SMEs and listed companies across a range of sectors. In 2000, he joined BWD Securities PLC, which went onto become IW&I UK, initially as group financial controller with responsibility for the management of the group’s internal and external financial reporting, tax compliance and other financial matters.

Andy joined the firm in April 2020 as Chief Operating Officer and is accountable for operations, change, technology and facilities. He began his career in the British Army and having left in 2004 completed an MBA at Edinburgh University.
Andy has worked at BSkyB, O2 Telefonica, Barclays Wealth and Aberdeen Standard Capital, prior to joining Rathbones. Over his career he has held senior roles focusing on client service, operations, technology and change. Andy’s last role before joining Rathbones was chief operating officer at Aberdeen Standard Capital, part of Standard Life Aberdeen.

Sarah is Chief Risk Officer and joined Rathbones in March 2015. She worked for NatWest and RBS group for over 30 years, including 13 years at Coutts.
Sarah’s career turned to risk management in the 1990s and she worked in Switzerland for three years as the chief risk officer for Coutts’ international private banking business. She moved to the Non Core division of RBS in 2010 and most recently provided risk oversight of RBS’ transformation programme.
Sarah has an MBA with a dissertation on operational risk management and she is a member of the Institute of Risk Management. She joined the Group Executive Committee in July 2015.

Rupert joined Rathbone Investment Management as an Investment Director in 2000 and became CEO Investment Management in January 2024. Rupert has over 41 years’ experience in the wealth management sector, attending to the needs of individuals, trusts and pension schemes.
In his investment manager role, Rupert drew upon the wide range of specialists within Rathbones to help him deliver on the requirements of those clients for whom he was responsible.
Client situations vary considerably according to life stage, quantum of wealth, particular areas of interest and planning for the future financial well-being of their families. Consequently, investment solutions also differ widely, from those seeking income, to those seeking only capital gains. Investment risk appetite is also very personal. Importantly, Rathbones creates bespoke solutions to each client’s circumstances and needs.
As a member of the Executive group, Rupert is responsible for the smooth running of the firm’s private client operations. He is overseeing the integration of client facing activities of Investec Wealth & Investment into Rathbones Investment Management.
He leads in a collaborative style and is passionate about developing staff, at all levels, to ensure they can provide the highest quality client service.
Clients are at the heart of all that Rathbones do and Rupert believes cutting-edge technology will assist in the firm’s development.
Rupert is married with one son, lives in the Cotswolds and has a passion for mountain sports.

With over 30 years’ experience, Gaynor joined from BNP Paribas UK where she led a team of 21 and was responsible for all aspects of people management, performance, culture, talent and engagement. Previous roles include Group HR Director at Tilney Group where she led the people agenda for a business with 30 offices UK-wide, spanning 3 brands, prior to which she was a People and Corporate Development Director at Capital and Regional Plc, taking on leadership responsibility and supporting the Chairman and the CEO in restructuring the organisation.

Tony began his career in financial services in 1984 working for Commercial Union, before moving to Barclays where he specialised in pension plan administration. He joined Saunderson House in 1989 as a trainee financial planner, where he built extensive experience in successfully helping individuals manage their wealth, and was appointed a Director of the company in 1996. In January 2012, he became the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Saunderson House Board of Directors.
During his long career at Saunderson House, Tony has played a key role in cultivating a culture of always putting our clients’ interests and goals at the heart of everything we do, and building a business that maintains strong client-advisor relationships – providing personal advice rather than selling products. Tony holds responsibility for setting the firm’s strategic direction, championing our conduct agenda and instilling the firm’s core values. He also plays a fundamental part in continuing to develop the company’s corporate social responsibility and staff engagement programmes.
Tony holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a Chartered Financial Planner. In 2017, he was a winner in the Finance Monthly CEO Awards and has led Saunderson House in its recognition through numerous awards in recent years including the Best Wealth Management Adviser in the 2017 Money Marketing Awards.

Jayne works closely with RAM’s chief executive Tom Carroll to oversee the growth of the funds and intermediary businesses, as well as developing and delivering a distribution strategy for the wealth management business. Jayne previously worked for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), where she was latterly EMEA head of strategic initiatives. At MSIM she had oversight of strategy, regulation and governance. She chaired the Regulatory Committee and co-chaired the Operating Committee. She also led the integration of strategic mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, Jayne was head of institutional business, Hong Kong and ASEAN for Robeco Asset Management where she built its institutional distribution across the region. She has also worked for KPMG Investment Advisory, as head of fund manager research, Mercer Investment Consulting, The Wellcome Trust and Adam & Company.

Murray is the Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of Investec Wealth & Investment (UK).
Murray has been in the industry for over 30 years. After Investec’s acquisition of Williams De Broë in 2012, Murray joined Investec as Regional Director for Scotland & Northern Ireland and also Office Head for the Edinburgh office as well as positions on the IW&I Executive Committee and IW&I Board. In April 2023 Murray assumed the role of UK Head of Private Client Investment Management. Murray graduated from Edinburgh University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1984. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.
Murray is the Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of Investec Wealth & Investment (UK).

Simonetta joined Rathbones in 2024 from Evelyn Partners, where she was Group Chief Marketing Officer as well as the architect and commercial owner of the redesigned Bestinvest.co.uk. With 25 years’ experience in financial services, Simonetta started her career at McKinsey & Company and has since held a variety of roles at American Express, Bupa International, Western Union and Tesco Bank. She has served on the Board of the Western Union Foundation and of UK wealth manager Brewin Dolphin, and has been a member of the Surrey Business School Advisory Board since 2016, which she chaired for the last two years. Simonetta has an MBA from INSEAD.
