James joined Rathbones in November 2021 as an investment manager. He joined the industry in 2014 and previously worked at Smith & Williamson. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager as well as CFA chartership holder. James is experienced in dealing with private clients, trusts and charites.

James has previous experience working as a research analyst, specialising on Transport and Media companies as well as UK collectives. Prior to his career he studied Economics at the University of Nottingham, achieving a first class degree.

James started his career in 2008 working for Lloyds TSB Private Banking in Exeter as an investment reviewer. In 2010 he moved to London and worked briefly as an associate equity dealer before joining Smith & Williamson in 2011. James joined Rathbones as an investment manager in 2014.

James works in a successful team alongside Peter Lowe and three further investment managers. James and the team manage in excess of £1.2bn across a range of portfolios, including a broad range of investment mandates for individuals, trusts, pension funds (both SIPPs and SSASs) and charities.

As well as looking after his clients, James also sits on the UK Equity Collective Committee.

James has a young family and likes to get out on his bike exploring the Cotswolds where he lives.

James is an investment manager with experience managing a variety of bespoke portfolios for private clients, including SIPPs, charities, offshore bonds and discretionary trusts.

James completed the CFA Program in June 2010, having previously obtained the SII Diploma. He is a member of both the CFA Institute and CISI. He also holds a masters in Mathematics from the University of Warwick.

James moved to Rathbones in May 2010 having previously been an assistant vice president at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, formerly Tilney Investment Management. He has been in the industry since his graduation in 2005.

James is the regional coordinator for the Discretionary Fund Management Services Committee which promotes Rathbone services to external advisors and is the former Chairman of one of the Rathbone Investment Committees. He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

James recently moved to Cambridge with his wife and son, and enjoys his rugby the outdoors and being involved with church.

Jane started her career with mid-sized private client firm Montagu Loebl Stanley in 1987, before a takeover by Robert Fleming, in 1989. Jane became a director of Fleming Private Asset Management in 1999, and joined Rathbones in 2001 following a takeover of Robert Fleming by Chase Manhattan, and a subsequent merger with JPMorgan.

Jane is an investment director working with both Greenbank and the London Charities team. She graduated in 1998 with an honours degree in Economics from Nottingham University and is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.

She trained at Tilney in Liverpool, managing portfolios for private clients, trusts, pensions and charities, before moving to Brown Shipley and Co, where she became a voting member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, providing equity research and guidance for the wider firm, and was involved in managing the in-house UK equity funds.

Jane joined Barclays’ portfolio management team in 2008 where she became a specialist in managing bespoke and ethical portfolios on behalf of Charity clients, and was a voting member of Barclays UK Equity Committee and the Charity Investment Committee.

Janelle is a senior client service executive at Rathbones. She has over 10 years’ experience in finance-related companies and joined Rathbones in October 2011 having been in the audit department at Baker Tilly (now RSM Tenon).  She is responsible for all aspects of client administration and supports the charity/institutional team.

Janelle has completed the Investment Advice Diploma and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Janelle is a senior client service executive at Rathbones. Jason manages discretionary investment accounts in several forms, including those for individuals, charities, trusts, pensions, and corporate vehicles.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, where he is also a committee member on the Institute’s Bristol & Bath Regional Panel.

At Rathbones, he sits on the committee that deal with the US regulation He is also registered as an investment manager with the SEC, in the USA and is experienced in investing for clients with tax liabilities in that country.

Jason started his city career at Killik & Co Stockbrokers in 1994, after seven years in the British Army as a Light Dragoon. He moved to Ely Fund Managers in 1998 and then joined Rathbones in 2006.

Outside of Rathbones, Jason takes an active role in charitable work. He is the Chairman of Bath Recreation Ltd; a charity in the Georgian City of Bath, responsible for providing sports facilities and recreation for the local people. He has recently finished as a trustee at Wiltshire Community Foundation, after nine years of service and is a trustee of the Gunmakers’ Company Charitable Trust where he is also a Liveryman. He is also a Freeman of the Guild of Investment Managers.

Sports wise, he is a keen rugby supporter, fly fisherman and field sports enthusiast. In good weather he can also be found riding classic motorcycles, of which he has a few.
