Marcus is an investment director specialising in private client portfolio management, associated self invested pension schemes and trusts. He also manages investment portfolios on behalf of charities.

He is a graduate of Exeter University and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. The early part of his financial career was spent at Killik & Co in London before joining Rathbones in 1997.

Mark is an investment director with many years of investment experience. He manages portfolios for a wide range of individuals, families, trusts, pension funds and charitable organisations.

Mark joined Speirs & Jeffrey in 1989 after studying business studies at college and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

Mark is an investment director with many years of investment experience. He manages portfolios for a wide range of individuals, families, trusts, pension funds and charitable organisations.

Mark joined Speirs & Jeffrey in 1989 after studying business studies at college and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

Mark is an investment director who began his career at Rathbones in 2006.  He spent the first six years working on the central dealing desk, during which time he was responsible for trading all asset classes with a particular focus on fixed interest securities. He moved to investment management in 2012 and now manages a variety of bespoke portfolios for private clients, including SIPP’s, charities, offshore bonds and family trusts, working in a team alongside Rob Unsworth and Will Roberts. 

Mark is also involved in the running Rathbones’ financial awareness programme – a national initiative which aims to increase the financial awareness of young people. As part of this programme, Mark speaks at schools and hosts financial workshops for young people who are looking to broaden their financial knowledge or seeking to pursue careers in the finance industry. 

Mark has completed the Securities Institute Diploma, is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and is a Chartered Wealth Manager. He also holds an honours degree in English.

Mark has been the regional director since 2015, having joined Rathbones in 2001 to help open the Cambridge office. As well as being responsible for running and developing the Cambridge team, Mark has significant experience in managing private client, trust, offshore, pension fund and Charity portfolios. He has worked in the industry since his graduation in 1994.

Mark holds the CISI Diploma and has been a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) since 2000. He received the APCIMS Award for achieving the highest marks nationally that year in the Private Client Investment Advice and Management paper of the Diploma.

Mark has spent 10 years as a school governor and is now involved in the office charitable fundraising, as well as being a trustee for a local charity. Mark also spent 15 years coaching youth football and now enjoys cycling and running.

Martha joined Rathbones as an investment director in 2016.  At Rathbones Martha concentrates on investments for private individuals, their pensions and family trusts, specialising in the management of multi asset investment portfolios.  Martha is a qualified Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments and holds the Securities Institute Diploma.

Having graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Martha began her career at Cazenove, on the graduate training programme, gaining experience in all facets of the business. She concluded that a future managing individuals’ wealth suited her skill set and interest. In 2006 Martha joined HSBC Global Asset Management in the Discretionary Wealth division.  As a director, Martha had regional responsibility for London working closely with clients and their advisers.

Mary is a research administrator and joined Rathbones in 2016.  Mary sits on the research support team and is responsible for taking minutes of meetings, building relationships with external brokers, organising company meetings, creating and maintaining departmental procedures and other ad hoc project work.

Mary has over 17 years’ experience in financial services, having previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group and BGC Partners. She gained her AAT Accounting Certificate in 2001 and became a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2002.

Matthew has recently joined Rathbones as an investment director having over 23 years of investment experience managing portfolio for individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds at Quilter Cheviot.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI as well as being a long serving committee member and ex-president of the Manchester District of the CISI. He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Manchester.

Matthew’s focus remains to work closely with the owners of the funds and their chosen professional advisers, providing the highest quality of service at all times.

Matthew has recently joined Rathbones as an investment director having over 23 years of investment experience managing portfolio for individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds at Quilter Cheviot.

Matt is responsible for Rathbones’ stewardship activities – managing a team delivering proxy voting and engagement on ESG issues. He’s spent his 20-year career exclusively in responsible investment, with specialisms in Climate Change and Human Rights in Supply chains. 

He is a graduate of the University of Bristol where he studied law, with a particular interest in the administration of environmental law. A holder of the CFA Certificate in ESG investing, he also has post-graduate qualifications in Sustainable Development theory and practice. He is a trustee of the Quartet Community Foundation, having previously been on the board of LoveBristol, and urban regeneration charity, and the Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility.
