Rathbone Investment Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Fiona Gillespie as the new head of charities for Scotland.
Fiona joins Rathbones with over 25 years’ experience within investment management, most recently at Anderson Strathern Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management, where she was the principal manager for a number of charities and foundations.
Fiona has a long track record of managing investments for charities and is a long-standing member of the charity sector in Scotland. Fiona’s appointment will help strengthen Rathbones’ charity proposition with the aim to cement Rathbones’ position as a key player in the sector north of the Border. In the UK overall, Rathbone Investment Management is one of the leading investment managers for charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Fiona also holds several voluntary board positions with the Children’s Hospice Association of Scotland, also sitting on their Finance Audit and Risk Committee, The Stafford Trust and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
Fiona Gillespie, head of charities for Rathbones in Scotland, commented: “In Scotland, we are blessed with a sizeable charitable sector, providing vital services, funding and support across our communities. I am delighted to join Rathbones at such an exciting time, building on the great work the team have already been doing over a number of years. We shall be focusing on developing our investment proposition further, offering our clients an institutional level of service with a private client feel. With a rich history of investment management in Scotland, Rathbones is already a well-established player and I am excited to help raise the profile of the team and put us firmly on the map for our work with charities.”
Simon Dewar, a regional director of Rathbones in Scotland, commented: “Fiona will be a valuable addition to the team in Scotland, bringing to us her great experience of working with charity clients. As a passionate supporter of charities, Fiona’s appointment will help us consolidate our position as a trusted adviser to the sector in Scotland.”
