I am a Senior Financial Planning Director with Rathbones, providing pro-active wealth management advice, with a particular focus on a very high level of personal service and long-term strategic planning.  My team serves around 120 clients and their families, including a significant number of current and retired partners at the top legal and accountancy firms and entrepreneurs.

We have a considerable amount of experience helping extremely busy people to realise their financial goals and achieve ‘financial independence’.  My spare time is mostly devoted to my 3 young children.  I have a passion for travel and skiing.  To keep fit I run regularly in the Oxfordshire countryside and play squash. Rathbones has offices around the UK and in the Channel Islands and currently manages over £100 billion of client wealth. I am also a Trustee of the Charles S French Charitable Trust, which distributes around £500,000 p.a. to charitable causes in Essex and North East London.

Aidan Edgerton

Financial planner

London

Aidan is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He joined Rathbones in 2021 as part of the acquisition of Saunderson House. Prior to joining Saunderson House in 2017, Aidan worked for a London-based mortgage and protection broker, which sparked his passion for helping people with their personal finances. He now has almost 8 years’ experience of helping private clients and their families to achieve their financial goals and ambitions through a range of financial planning services including but not limited to: investment planning, retirement planning and estate planning.

He finds great satisfaction in giving his clients peace of mind when planning for contingencies and making financial decisions about their futures, evidenced by the following testimonial from one of his current clients:

“Aidan has been my first point of contact at Rathbones through the most difficult part of my life following the premature death of my husband. When I was least able to make any sensible decisions, he was there every step of the way to take me from a wife who allowed her husband to do everything regarding financial matters, to an independent woman who is now responsible for her own financial destiny, and I couldn't have achieved that without Aidan’s support, patience, and kindness. Aidan and the team have done a wonderful job for me, and they make me feel confident going forward that I will be financially secure and if I ever have any concerns, they are always there to advise me and put my mind at rest. Thank you, Aidan, and thank you Rathbones."

Aidan also holds a first-class honours degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Kent and currently lives in St. Albans. Outside of work, Aidan enjoys spending time with his fiancée, family, and friends. He is also a keen skier and enjoys travelling the world and experiencing new cultures.
