Having graduated with an MA in History from the University of Cambridge in 1981, Nick began his investment career with Tilney & Co, in Liverpool, where he spent 24 years. He joined Rathbones in 2011 after spending time as head of asset management with an investment boutique and with J O Hambro Capital Management in London. He was elected a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1986 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Although Nick specialises in the management of private clients, trusts, pensions and charities he is also a highly experienced US and global equities fund manager. A past Citywire Cover Star and a two time winner at the Lipper Citywire All Star Awards he has considerable experience working with national media and the trade press, both in the UK and USA. He contributes to the Rathbone investment process being a member of the International Equities Committee and is a member of Rathbones Adviser Specialist Group.

Paula is a highly experienced investment manager specialising in the discretionary management of private client, trust, pension and charity portfolios. Paula and her team are committed to understanding each client’s specific requirements and providing a clear and personal service of the highest quality to family members across the generations.  She works closely with clients’ trusted advisers and is a member of the Rathbones independent financial adviser team.   Paula was previously with Jupiter Private Clients where she was a senior member of the team developing an award winning investment process for advisers and their clients, then acquired by Rathbones in 2014.

Paula began her investment career at Hoare Govett moving to Invesco to build a private client investment business which was later acquired by Singer & Friedlander Investment Management. She was elected as a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1991.  Paula is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and also a Chartered Wealth Manager. She is also proud to be a trustee of the National Health Service Pensioners Trust charity.

Peter is an investment director and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). He joined Rathbones in 2014 prior to which he had been a partner of Smith & Williamson Investment Management Ltd where he had been for some 20 years. At Smith & Williamson he provided investment support to the personal financial planning arm concentrating on pension management, fixed income investing and heading up the collective research process.

At Rathbones Peter works very closely with James Vincent and three further investment managers heading up a team looking after £1bn+ of private client, pension, charity and trust investments. The team specialise in supporting high net worth individuals and their families. As a very experienced fixed income investor, Peter also sits on the Fixed Income Committee. 

Peter speaks a number of languages and has a degree in French & Swedish with Economics. Having spent his formative years in Italy he had plenty of exposure to skiing and most alpine sports and is currently a Trustee of the Skiers Trust of Great Britain. He is a keen cyclist and when possible heads down to the family home in Cornwall for coastal walking.

Nicholas joined Rathbones in 2011 and, after an period working alongside other managers, he is now part of a larger team headed by Tim Hubbard.

He graduated from Cambridge with an MA in Natural Sciences and started working life at Price Waterhouse, before moving to James Capel in 1986 and Smith & Williamson until 1995. He then moved to Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd (TYIM), a firm started by his father in 1986.

He worked at TYIM for 17 years, as a fund manager and analyst, and latterly as a director and member of the Executive Committee. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.

He is married with two children and lives in Kent.

Peter leads the London and Cambridge Region at Rathbones Investment Management. He joined Rathbones in 2012 following the acquisition of Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd where he was Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Executive Committee. In his role as Investment Director, Peter draws on over 35 years’ experience in the wealth management sector as well as the wide range of specialists within Rathbones in attending to the needs of the individual clients, trusts and pension schemes he is responsible for. Clients are at the heart of all that Rathbones do and Peter leads in a collaborative style and is passionate about developing staff to ensure they can provide the highest quality client service. In January 2022 Peter became Chair of the Rathbones Investment Executive Committee, which oversees the governance of the investment process and areas of ongoing development. Peter is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager and holds a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of London. He is also a trustee of estate, family, and charitable settlements.

Phil is an investment director, who manages a variety of investment portfolios.  After graduating from Southampton University with an honours degree in Sports Science, Phil joined HSBC later that year.  Phil spent 14 years working in the Private Client department of HSBC Global Asset Management managing portfolios for private clients, personal pension funds, trusts and charities. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Securities and Investment.

She spent most of her career at Rea Brothers starting off in foreign exchange and moving to the investment management department in 1989. Natalie passed her General Registered Representative exam in 1989 and has been a Diploma Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment since 1993.

Natalie is an investment director and has been managing funds for private clients and trustees since 1993. Randolph is an investment director, Chartered Accountant and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.  Randolph previously led an investment team at Schroders Private Bank.  Before joining Schroders, he was Director in charge of charities at Lazard Asset Management running investments for a number of larger UK charities.  He also worked at Deloitte and Touche Accountants.

After leaving school, Randolph served five years in the Royal Navy and his last appointment was as a Navigating and Operations Officer on HMS Swallow in the Hong Kong Squadron. Subsequently, Randolph attended Buckingham University where he was awarded a degree in Financial Management and Accountancy.

Until December 2016 Randolph was a Director of the Armed Services Investment Company that oversees the investment for over 100 military charities and also until December 2016 a Trustee of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

Randolph is currently a Trustee of the War Memorial Trust, President of the International Churchill Society, Patron of The Biggin Hill Memorial Museum Trust, a Patron of Winston’s Wish and the JAGS Foundation.
