Rebecca is an investment manager working with a team managing private client portfolios, self-invested pensions schemes and charities. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Rebecca started her career in 2004 at Whitefoord Limited, before moving to Holden & Partners, a Wealth Management firm with an Ethical bias. Rebecca worked as a junior investment manager, where she was managing portfolios and researching investments before joining Rathbones in 2010.

Robert joins us as an investment director from Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd and manages a range of private client, trust, charity and SIPP portfolios.

Robert began his career at Scrimgeour Kemp-Gee Ltd in 1982 before moving to Greig Middleton in 1991 and subsequently joining Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd in 2004. Robert is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Robert joins us as an investment director from Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd and manages a range of private client, trust, charity and SIPP portfolios.

Robert joined Rathbones in 2014 as an investment director. He started his investment career over 20 years ago at Coutts & Co as a portfolio manager in their investment department after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Economics and Business Management in 1994.

After gaining his investment qualifications at Coutts he then moved to the Private Client division of Invesco Perpetual as investment director and was responsible for the integration of Perpetual’s Private Client division, focussing on the management of both UK and international private client portfolios. In 2004, Invesco Perpetual sold their Private Client division to Singer & Friedlander and, in 2008, Robert joined Jupiter Asset Management with the same team of individuals he has worked with since 1995.

Finally, Jupiter sold their Private Client division to Rathbones in 2014, where Robert retains his specialism of managing investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds, both in the UK and for international “ex-pats” by working in partnership with specialist financial advisors in Europe. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.

Ross began his career in operations at Lifetime Group and subsequently Singer & Friedlander. He then spent almost six years with Jupiter Asset Management as a portfolio manager before joining Rathbones in September 2014.

Ross graduated from Cambridge University with a master's degree in Natural Sciences and is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Chartered Member of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment). He now sits on the CISI examination panel for the Financial Markets module of the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification (formerly known as CISI Masters in Wealth Management).

Rowland began his investment career in 1997 at Fleming Private Asset Management (subsequently acquired by JP Morgan Chase) where he built up a solid grounding in equity research before becoming a private client portfolio manager. In 2001, he joined HSBC Investment Management, where he was made a director and ultimately responsible for a team managing over £200m of assets.

Rowland moved to PSigma Investment Management as an investment director in 2005, making a significant contribution to the firm’s expansion during his six years managing private client, trust, SIPP and offshore bond portfolios. He joined the Liverpool office of Rathbones in January 2012 as an investment director.

At Rathbones, Rowland specialises in the management of discretionary portfolios for private clients, including trusts, pensions and other investment vehicles. He is a member of the Financial Advisor Specialist Group and has previously sat on the Rathbones Stewardship Committee.

He graduated from Newcastle University in 1997 with 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Rural & Environmental Economics. In 2001 he was made a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Outside of Rathbones, Rowland also acts as a trustee, providing investment oversight, for a large educational charity with assets of approximately £30m.

Rupert joined Rathbone Investment Management as an Investment Director in 2000 and became CEO Investment Management in January 2024. Rupert has over 41 years’ experience in the wealth management sector, attending to the needs of individuals, trusts and pension schemes.

In his investment manager role, Rupert drew upon the wide range of specialists within Rathbones to help him deliver on the requirements of those clients for whom he was responsible.

Client situations vary considerably according to life stage, quantum of wealth, particular areas of interest and planning for the future financial well-being of their families. Consequently, investment solutions also differ widely, from those seeking income, to those seeking only capital gains. Investment risk appetite is also very personal.  Importantly, Rathbones creates bespoke solutions to each client’s circumstances and needs.

As a member of the Executive group, Rupert is responsible for the smooth running of the firm’s private client operations. He is overseeing the integration of client facing activities of Investec Wealth & Investment into Rathbones Investment Management. 

He leads in a collaborative style and is passionate about developing staff, at all levels, to ensure they can provide the highest quality client service.

Clients are at the heart of all that Rathbones do and Rupert believes cutting-edge technology will assist in the firm’s development.

Rupert is married with one son, lives in the Cotswolds and has a passion for mountain sports.

Samantha joined Rathbones, London, in September 2014 as an investment director, having previously been a private clients and charities director at Jupiter Asset Management for over thirteen years.  Samantha started her career at Lazard Asset Management.  Throughout her career she has looked after large family groups and both public and private charities.  She specialises in succession planning for large family groups and divorce.

Samantha has a degree in French and Management Studies from Reading University where she also spent one year at l’IAE de Poitiers studying for a MBA.

Simon is an investment director and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a  Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and an IMC member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Simon joined Rathbones in April 2006 as a result of the acquisition of Ely Fund Managers (Part of the Dexia Group). Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Binder Hamlyn in 1983 since when he has chalked up over 25 years stock-market experience in the City and overseas working for a number of leading UK and international stockbrokers before joining Ely Fund Managers in 2002.

Simon is an investment director and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a  Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and an IMC member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Stephen is an investment director managing a wide range of portfolios across a broad spectrum of client types including private clients, pension funds, trusts, companies and charities. He has particular expertise managing portfolios introduced by professional intermediaries, particularly financial advisers.  Stephen is Chair of Rathbones’ Financial Adviser Investment team. The purpose of this team is to generate guidance portfolios for fund managers to use when building strategies for clients whilst also communicating Rathbones’ service and investment expertise to the financial adviser marketplace. Stephen is one of Rathbones’ specialist investment speakers and has extensive experience of public speaking, both at in-person meetings and conferences, as well as through digital platforms.

Prior to beginning a career in investment management Stephen was a professional rugby player with Exeter Chiefs. Today Stephen is a member of the leadership team of Andover Baptist Church and acts as one of the trustees of the charity. He continues to have a keen interest in outdoor pursuits and leads a local Open Award Centre offering young people the opportunity to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Stephen holds an MA Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
